Called into a few motels in Shepparton and picked this one. If you're looking, prices of all the ones we enquired at were cheaper than the last minute sites on the internet. Defiantly not worth pre-booking, just drive up.

The Country Comfort is a typical sized Australian Motel, about 15 rooms. Unlike motels in England, Australian ones always have a fridge, maybe a toaster and microwave and space to prepare and eat food. The only thing missing here was the microwave, but it wasn't a problem.

Our room had a queen size and a single bed and the TV had half a dozen cable channels.

WiFi was available at A$3 per hour or $5 for two hours. I questioned the timing mechanism as there was no facility to log out of the system but was assured when I turned off I was logged out. Seemed wrong to me, and indeed we only had an hour of use before the account was unavailable, but some kind neighbours obliged. There was also a small outdoor swimming pool.

Location is on the highway on the very outskirts of Shepparton at the north (Numurkah) end. A bit too far to walk into town - although we wouldn't think twice about the distance if we were overseas - it was about a 5 minute drive. Shepparton is a fairly large regional centre, and you can find all the eating, drinking, banking and shopping you could possibly want.

Should we ever need accommodation in the area again, we'll defiantly come back here.
